Iron and Grain was born from a family’s journey toward healthier living after a diabetes diagnosis changed everything. What began as a personal commitment to slow down, learn, and support one another soon became a passion for creating nourishing food with intention. Guided in part by their daughter’s honours degree in biology, the family explored how simple, wholesome ingredients and mindful eating could better support overall health and well-being.
Through that journey, sourdough became a meaningful part of their lifestyle, appreciated for its natural fermentation, rich flavour, and simplicity. What started in their kitchen gradually grew into something they could share with others.
Today, Iron and Grain creates slow-crafted sourdough breads and baked goods made with time, care, and heart. Every loaf is thoughtfully prepared using natural fermentation to develop deep flavour, a beautiful golden crust, and food that brings comfort and calm to the table.
