Kristin Haines is a maker, a horsewoman, and most importantly, a mother to three wonderful children, who teach her something new every day. Sawyer Luna, 8, is a wild spirit who loves creativity in all its forms and is a nature lover at heart. Poppy Ray, 5, is fiery and silly—shy around strangers but always eager to connect with those she knows. Forest June, 3, is a little adventurer. They are all a big part of why Kristin loves what she does, as she gets to show them daily that they can pursue their passions as careers, and that creativity knows no limits. The children spend their days watching their parents create—from sewing to photography, making templates, and working with hardware. Sawyer, in particular, is deeply involved, having learned to hammer a nail at 14 months old, use scissors by 16 months, and now enjoys helping her mother stitch leather and working on her own projects. Kristin lives with her husband and children on a small hobby farm in eastern Alberta, along with two horses, two mules, two cats, a dog, chickens, and turkeys.
