For 20 years Artist Alana Lavone lived on a small farm north of Sedgewick as a stay at home mom and farm wife. In 2008, Alana's family moved to Viking and she opened a flower shop in town. In 2014 Alana made the decision to sell her shop and started to pursue her first love-- Art. Alana fell in love with alcohol ink the first time she saw it- the intensity of the color and the flow of the paint drew her in with amazement. For Alana, it has been a wonderful experience learning and working with this medium. She likes being able to collaborate and enjoys the support she receives in the rural areas, especially from others who are in the same boat of trying to run a small business.
